Fenix 5X wi-fi problems

I can't connect the fenix 5X to my wi-fi network.

I've added the network in garmin express.

I read other posts and changed the router channel, tryed to activate wi-fi near the router, turned the SSID visible in the network, tryed caps lock on and of in the password in garmin express...

Nothing works...

The watch always says "network error, please try again later".

I also have a Fenix 3 and it works with the same router everytime i turn it on
  • My router is visble, but 5x says no known network found, but even better since the reinstall cause heat up and accu drain from Garmin Connect 5x doesnt even show any wifi option.
Next time when i have to charge i will connect 5x to PC and setup wifi.

Yes, I had the same message "no knew network found". Router visible, GarminExpress delete network and create a new one.
    After that worked.
  • I pluged 5x to pc deleted wifi and set it new with Garmin Express. Said okay when 5x loaded maps and watchface it says again no known network found.
Garmin please make a wifi option in app.
  • I regularly have to set up Wi-Fi networks on my fenix 5X, sometimes manually. After you select Find Networks in Garmin Express, if your watch has found and saved any networks they will show up here for you to click on. Network names with padlocks next to them are password protected and will need you to select them and enter the password for the watch to connect to them. A network that has been saved to the watch will have two icons to the right: edit and delete.

If you aren't seeing your network in the Find Network list, you can manually add it with the + Add a Network Manually. The Network name must match EXACTLY, including any spaces, caps, numbers, symbols, etc. Security type has to be exact too.

I add a Wi-Fi selection to my 5X Controls Menu: hold the light button, when the icon circle comes up release the light button and hold the UP button. With the Wi-Fi icon added to the Controls Menu, I can search for Wi-Fi without going through all the menus.

My Wi-Fi seems to have dead spots when this watch is looking, and I've determined the best spots to be at when I try to connect to Wi-Fi. Move around while looking for Wi-Fi after setting your network up in Express. Try being within line of sight or around 10 feet from your Wi-Fi router. Once you are able to connect in one location, you can find other areas where you get a good signal or not.
  • If i hold light button down longer the wifi icon is gone.
GARMIN please add a set wifi option to the app. Plugin 5x to PC is anoying and doesnt work.
The best thing would be a direct wifi widget on 5x.
  • I pluged 5x to pc setup wifi in express and restarted 5x.
but only the same no known network found.
I had do setup wifi manuel as i dosen't
Find it by itself maybe that is the problem.
if wifi settings in garmin connect i could go closer to the router.

Asus RT-AC68U, wifi connects but doesn't transfer files.
  • I have a e5573 huawei for LTE, here sadly no cable or ftth vdsl...
I cant find my network in Garmin Express only option to set it up manuel.
Garmin Express shows all okay, but when i plug off 5x
says always no known network found.
If there were an option in Garmin Connect i could go close to the e5573 and maybe it would show it in list.
  • I've changed my router from a Technicolor to a Huawey, and now both my fenix 3 and my fenix 5X work everytime when i connect them to wi-fi
  • I got Garmin Express update today and was hoping the wi-fi problem is gone but nothing changed.
In Garmin Express it always connects as soon i plug off 5x.
The no known network comes up.
(even laid router close to 5x and it doesnt autofind the network in GE)
I ask myself if its a WPA2-PSK fault as in GE only WPA2 is shown?
