Talked to Garmin today and got some answers. Turns out there wasn't enough activities to create a training status. On one hand, that's good news if it works. On the other hand, does this mean if you're primarily a cyclist that training status will never work? In the 3 weeks I've had the watch I've only done three trail runs (rolled my ankle), but 15 mtb and road rides. So it seems training status doesn't include cycling unless you have a power meter. Being the 5X can't calculate a vo2 max estimate without a power meter for cycling, it isn't factored into the training status. Wonder if they could estimate vo2 max for cycling like Suunto does? Can't even get my head around running power on both my road bike and mtb.
