Hi my tempe needs long 60-90 seconds to connect on 5x
On my S7 i ve AmbiTemp Free there it only takes 5-10 seconds to connect to tempe.
Also on AmbiTemp Free it shows min temp 8,9° max temp 26,0 on Fenix 5x it shows only min 9°max 26°
So i know the tempe can show 0,1 units.
Please fix this with next update.

I made a temperature page in walk ultratrac.
I could switch to the page and saw Tempe all the time connected and auto updating itself all the time.
But have 5x always on ultratrac to see Tempe really goes on battery cause gps.
So i hope Garmin allows users to use Tempe in Watchfaces all the time.
That it is possible was proofed today.

Sadly nothing changed in Version 3.30 for better Tempe support. So hope Garmin will do it with next update.

The tempe on the f5x is working just like it does on all other modern Garmin watches.. The va,vahr,fr's, fenix3, fenix5, etc...

So you think there is no hope to have Tempe always connected and self updating in a Watchface? Like it does in ultratrac or gps mode.
  • It "might" be possible if the CIQ app did direct ANT+ calls to the tempe, but I can't say for sure. But even then, it could at most get a reading every 5 minutes (it would have to be done in a background process for the watch face which can run at most 30 seconds, and every 5 minutes or more.

The behaviour is the same now as it's been for many years. I see nothing to suggest this will suddenly change with a firmware update in the near future.

Sounds promising jim, i thought 5x has much more power then previous fenix models gasteropod.
Or by previous fenix just nobody asked for Tempe Watchface.
Whats good with Version 3.30 is that GearMin seems fixed, if i switch to Tempe or any other the Watchface doesn't resets.

You want something that looks like a watch face with Tempe data?

Again, click on my store link and check out "Time and Tempe".... It's been in the store for a couple years.

It has a more powerful processor, but I am sure battery is still just as much of an issue. They clearly design functions to use as little battery as possible to reach the stated battery life of the watch. They already reduced the quoted battery life after the initial announcement, so I do not think they will squander power without careful consideration. Whereas ant+ usage on a phone will be negligible compared to the screen.

I want a watchface like GearMin or better that GearMin shows Tempe and not internal temperature.
I'm sure this is possible also seconds always on.
