Hey folks,
I'm considering upgrading my F3 but would like to clarify one option that I'd really need.
When on mountain ultra races I always take with me a handheld GPSMap 62s and basically use it for two reasons:
1) occasionally check if i'm still on track (i don't use any navigation, I simply let the device draw the gpx track on a topo map and show my current location / track)
2) If I do use navigation (following a gps track), gpsmap62s has a nice option to automatically generate waypoints (trackpoints?) defined by highs and lows on a elevation plot. This is really usefull as I can check how much of an ascent is in front of (till the nearest high point) or how long will the descent be.
Is Fenix 5X capable of doing point #2?
Can one put a gpx track let the device to it's caltulations and then see how long is the current ascent (data field), how many meters are left (data field) and so on?
I'd buy th e 5X for my nearest race if thats possible and happyly leave the bulky gpsmap62s at home.
Thanks for any info.
