F5 lacks voice control?

For a device to be smart in 2017 I'd expect more.

Voice control for example.

"Garmin, start running "
"garmin pause"

If you feel fresh during an workout "garmin add 10 1min intervals with 1 min rest between" and the watch should be smart enough to alter alter current workout

"garmin, previous interval ". Redo the last interval when you pressed the wrong button.

For f5x voice commands like "garmin, directions to X" Would be nice.

Another probem woud be command reccognition.
Eventhough I am quite good in English, I doubt the watch would understand all my commands.

Siri ANd OK Google are hopless for me in english. And they suck…

Not sure about voice commands on the Fenix, maybe for certain indoor activities or low intensity work outs?

Save unit costs and offer one without OHR and chest strap only.

I have no numbers to back this up, but it might actually be cheaper for Garmin to only produce single line of units with OHR instead of splitting the product line even more with the non-ohr units. This is my guess why we see it on all the versions.

You're probably correct. More me just chucking thoughts out there. As long as I have the ability to use a chest strap, I don't mind. At least until OHR offers the same or better and consistent results as a chest strap anyway.

Exactly same thoughts. Although I like the OHR for 24x7 monitoring. For anything serious or even semi-serious I still use the HR straps.

I already have one ... and a tactix Bravo ;)

What I will gain with the fenix 5x is maps. Still haven't decided if I can live with an OHRM I will never use, or wait to see if Garmin introduces a 5x type, with maps, but without OHRM.
