I think it will be good to have one central place to have the latest news people here about the updated release date. DCR said it looks like early March. The garmin site says 5-8 weeks but thats the default time on all new products. Everywhere I read it says "By end of Q1" which is the end of March. Rei still doesnt have it listed yet either. Has anyone heard anything more specific?

Quite tempted by an F5 I must say but will have to see them in the flesh as I'm not convinced by the 5s diameter to depth ratio and "sticking out" lugs...I'm hoping the 5 (with its larger screen/resolution) will be just right at 47x47, barely more than the 45x45 of the RF235 currently sitting nicely on my wrist.
B&H have a expected shipping date of "mid April". Hopefully thats a mistake.
I saw that yesterday as well. Came to comment on it because it made me grimace. This would be my first Garmin watch and now that I've seen it I have the bug. Definitely wish it would come out before it gets too hot here to use it in the great weather while I can.
That's usually why I order from Clever Training.. They are always in the 1st wave that Garmin ships to. I am not sure where B&H is on the pecking order as far as Garmin goes. B&H gets Apple stuff very fast so I guess time will tell how they are stocked Garmin wise..

Hopefully the rep I spoke at B&H was telling me the accurate info. He said ship on 3/19, and I should have it by 3/23. We will see.
On the Cotswold front, they have added a message to the Fenix 5 product description on their website:
"PRE-ORDER NOW This item is now available to pre-order. We currently expect orders placed after 26th January to be despatched in mid April but please note that this could change."
So, I'm guessing there will be a first batch for people who pre-ordered before 26th Jan (mid to late March), and then subsequent deliveries from mid-April.
The same message appears on every variant (5, 5S, 5X).
Clever Training in the UK (http://www.clevertraining.co.uk/) also have the Fenix series on pre-order (you can get a discount code from the DC rainmaker F5 preview - check the comments at the end). They are listing it as "Pre Order: Expected Early March".
Anyone have any insight into what this means relative to release timing?
I honestly don't think this means anything one way or another. It seems to follow suite with past devices. These firmware are most likely in regard to Garmin's internal testing; it's just interesting to see how they progress.
My guess is still late March based on what I've been reading, although I have no real insight.
