TopoActive Europe 2021.20 : no new update ?

Over the many years I have been with Garmin, I have learned there are very specific types of information that receive the same response. When it comes to a new map release timeline request, the answer is essentially, "We are working on releasing the next version of the map as soon as possible. It will be released once it's ready."

Ich lade gerade über Garmin Express ein update für meine fenix 7XSS mit Topo Active Europe 2022.10 runter. Bin gespannt ob das alles reibungslos klappt.

Installation war problemlos und Karte ist im Kartenmanager enthalten (sorry, Version ist 2022.11)

TA Europe 2022.11 has been pulled and 2022.10 is the current version. Is 2022.11 working on your device without problems?

I just installed TA Europe 2022.10 on my Fenix 5 Plus and did a brief check. So far it seems to work with reasonable speed. It has the same issue as all versions before:

When I navigate to a point, the distance is far off. For example the way from my home to my sports club (track, gym) is 4.6-4.8km depending whether I run through the woods or on road (numerous options).Even with a car it's only 5.8 km. All the paths I use are present on the map. With Garmin Maps the distance ist 7km! Using an OSM map on my watch also does not deliver the shortest options, but they are around 5km. This is quite reasonable, so the issue is not the algorithm on the watch but the Garmin Maps!
