Livetrack is useless for the purpose it's intended for

Livetrack is supposedly a feature to have loved ones know where you are in case of an emergency.

Lets say I'm involved in an accident or something of that sort, the Livetrack interface that my loved ones see has absolutely no information on coordinates and no way of going from the Livetrack interface to some kind of navigation to where I am / was... Are they supposed to visually get to where I am? I'm probably going to be in the woods or somewhere that has no clear reference of where exactly I am.

Crazy to think that they can't think of the most obvious things to actually make a feature useful.

  • I guarantee you lawyers are involved to evaluate and limit liability in anything regarding advertised as "safety" or "emergency" features.

  • just read the manual: hold the light button for a while until it triggers

  • So you have to be a famous sportsman to take advantage of the feature, got it!

When my wife cycled 25k to work and back we used livetrack all the time to have dinner ready when she came home. Since it is only 6k now we don't use it for that anymore.

When we cycle to family I switch it on so they know when we will arrive, it is nice that they open the door just when you arrive. (on the fenix 6 I even have the course on the map Slight smile)

For emergency you have incident detection, I haven't used it, but I am pretty sure people will find you if needed. (It triggered a number of times, but I always cancelled)
