available network not found, error 0600

Dears,

I opened a case with Garmin support in Italy becasue I have problems connecting with the wifi. The wifi network card of the fenix is not able to find any wifi network even if from my smartphone I see there are several available. The case number is 116920769K0.

I received an email with instructions to follow: connect the fenix to garmin express and get all available updates installed; to do a master reset following the procedure.

I did both with no positive results, the fenix is still not able to locate any wifi connection.

I read in this pages that Gamin has been aware of such problem since at least 1 year and yet the problem is not solved.

The Italian Garmin support has never mentioned that the problem was known and it seems they are just trying to give some test to perform even if they already know the problem will not be solved.

I was told that most likely it is my internet connection but I tried to connect to several wifis different from my one with no positive outcome.

I was told that if the fenix is connected to the garmin express and the Fenix5 is not able to find a wifi, the problem is my laptop. My laptop works well and it is able to find wifi networks. The point is that the search of the wifi network is supposed to be done by the fenix5 and not using the wifi network card of my laptop.

If the problem is not solved yet, I want the cost of the garmin fenix 5 plus refunded.

  • I think that the watch only sees 2.4GHz WiFi frequencies. Your computer and phone probably see 5Ghz frequencies too.

My Wi-Fi has both 2.4 and 5GHz Frequencies active and the same the other WiFi that I tested.

  • My F5+ refuses to sync with my Vodafone cable router although the connection can be established. It works perfectly with my old tp-link router which is connected to the Vodafone router and with any other router I tested (@work, kids and parents home, hotel...), so it's obviously not Garmins fault although it's annoying.

  • broadcasting SSID should be visible.

  • As mentioned the connection can be established and also a test is successful. Therefore it needs to be a 2,4 GHz network with visible SSID. When trying to sync the message "no internet connection" - only with the Vodafone router.

  • I'm having this issue. Forerunner 945lte 7.11 firmware.

Previously wifi worked no problem. I have 2.4 and 5 spectrums enabled and ssid is broadcast

  • My Wif-issues were  solved years ago by updates of the watch and my router. My Fenix 5 plus connects to almost all networks I tried in the last years without any issues. So I cannot give you any advice besides the standard stuff:

Switching the watch off and on again, deleting the connection and setting it up again, restart your router, update your router......

  • Good for you. Not my issue. Done those things. I work in IT. Deleted readded. It worked before and only change is 7.11 update

  • Which security protocol is set up on your router? Isn't it WEP, by hazard? It is no more supported, I guess from the F5 firmware changelog. In the latest beta they added a warning about it, but the WEP protocol was probably removed already in the previous version (without the alert).

    18.44 Change Log Notes:

    • Added new alert to inform user that Wi-Fi networks configured to WEP security are no longer supported.
  • Wep has been dead for so long. I'm using WPA2 like anyone using network equipment made in the last 10+ years.

The issue is 100% not my WAP.
