Considering we can do this via GC, would someone from Garmin like to comment?

1) I do track my hydration especially during training.
2) Th point is that when the VA3 is getting new features over the 5+ series, Garmin isn't really too focussed on the premium over the cheaper ends…
Before I hear the usual about 'current' models, it's compatible with the VA3....
Perhaps if Garmin spent some time looking after their current models, then designing bloody Star Wars crap, we…
I found something that works much better than this widget. When I'm thirsty, I drink fluids. If it's hot outside or I'm going to exert myself, I'll drink fluids. I don't need anything or…
Indeed, but it's a useful little addon - and as I've said, I've used the existing GC infrastructure anyway. What really grinds my gears is it's representative of a seeming lack of focus by Garmin on the plus series, which as far as feature set is concerned is withering on the vine compared to others - even the VA3 fpr example. I just wish I could believe Garmin had a strategy because I don't see it.
I wish I could upvote this 100!! lol

That is a fair statement, but I think in the case of the hydration widget, this is one that won't be missed. Just my opinion and it doesn't make it fact. You may find it useful, just don't let it get you down if it doesn't come.
Agreed. I'd find it very useful as a little feature, and I agree it's a pretty minor one. It's just representative, I feel.
And now the 245 etc are getting even more features
I find this comment a bit opportunistic. Following this logic you could argue that all you need to train is a stop watch. Or maybe not even. Just listen to your body and run at a given effort for a given time. While I think there is some truth to that (I don't think we really *need* running watches), these devices are there to make training easier, funnier, more enjoyable. And so they do when you can monitor water intake. I was using the feature on my phone while at work and it was then when I saw how much I really drink per day. Of course you can just empty a 1l bottle a couple of times and take note. But that's not what I mean... do you see my point?

Seriously? Did you just say not being able to get the hydration widget on your F5 is equivalent to training with only a stopwatch? This is your logic? I said to the OP not to be disappointed if the widget doesn't come to the F5 because it's unnecessary, just as you've proven in your post by saying:
I was using the feature on my phone
If you want it or get it, that's fine. If you don't, nothing in your life is going to change. You're going to continue training just as everyone else on this planet has that's never had this widget.
I am also waiting for the garmin instinct hydration widget
I really am not too worried about this app although it would be nice to have, but what does worry me is the devices it is compatible with. There are devices that are in the same time frame as my Fenix 5+ that are getting these features but not the 5+. It seems like Garmin completely abandons the last generation of Fenix devices to try to get people to upgrade to the newer one. I haven't even had my watch a year yet and it is already not supported? You would think for such an expensive watch that Garmin would support it and add new features for a little while but I guess once a new Fenix is out you can say good bye to any new features. It is quite annoying and I am not sure how I feel about Garmin devices after this one.
