I fully understand your feelings. I had the same with other issues. Contact the Garmin support and insist that they should change the device.
That company become more and more a joke. Where do they find all the super programmer’s. At Boing ?
Of course you do. Me too. We payed a lot of money for a watch which isn't doing what they promised. Nothing more disappointing like Garmin. And they don't care. They got their money.

This is totally normal - exactly waht I've seen on my watch (I got it in March).
I'll try 7.60. May be it will be better
Perhaps a factory reset may help in the battery life. The stock watchfaces will be available after the reset though.
I've been tracking the battery on my fenix 5X+ since 10/7 after the 9.00 update. I've averaged .31% per hour since then.
I always leave BT on and use the No Frills watch face.
I've only recorded two Strength activities while playing music during that span.
No GPS activities.
For me this is comparable to 8.40.
Did the reset. Now it’s~35% /day. Before it was ~45%/day. Never get close to .5%/h ... envy you
just switching it off during sleep so to avoid charging every 3 days.
Send it to Garmin to get it replaced.
Luckily, I had never issues with the battery on my F5+. I saw, however, that switching to a watchface without HR or seconds, my battery consumption reduced quite a bit from 0.6%/h to 0.3%/h... This was more or less the same for all firmwares I had, and now with 9.00 it's the same.
F5S+ - no changes for everyday mode (around 0.6%/h), but I experienced a raising consumption during GPS mode from around 11%/h to 15-16%/h,so back to the beginning annoyingly, but I know, it could be worse.
I didn't reset the watch, but at least I turned it off and on.
Crystal watchface; BT, HR on; WiFi, Music off
For those who claim or think that they have battery issues since v9, I thought I had the same issue because I was just trusting the figures of my battery widget. However they are incorrect since the v9 firmware despite I have updated my watchface and widgets....
I have a Fenix 5s+ and was usually running with 0.4% to 0.5% (smartwatch) / hour with the rails watchface and since the v9 installation I was getting 0.55% / hour. But the watches uses:
9% for 24 hours
45% for 110 hours
which is aligned with 0.40% per hour....
Charging every 2 day , as i newly replaced a hip , then no activity, only 24 Hr monitoring. Not very impressed. Using Crystal watch face, and as i am not able to exercise at the moment, no gps , no activity at all.
my observation so far is that using the watch in smart watch mode (standard watchface, no additions and no seconds update) i got 50% battery usage in 7 days.
That's about 7,1% a day.
So far so "good"... since bluetooth connection issues are existing every day since over a year and make comparison even more difficult!
However, in the following two days the battery dropped to 31% for no obvious reason!
That makes 9.5% a day and leaves me again with a watch that is unpredictable and unreliable.
