Software Update - 8.40

Recieved the update this morning and installed it.

Let's see how this one is going to run.

I have problem with map loading time (latest map version). Everything takes noticeably longer and and often reboots.

Sorry. Just checked and my Garmin Connect Mobile has received an update yesterday so it might have contributed to fixing the connectivity issue.

Heads up.

My sensors, all of them, would not automatically connect after the update. I removed each individual sensor. I turned the watch completely off, then back on. I activated each sensor, in turn, and had the watch do a search for the current sensor. All is fine...now.

I get that happened randomly - say approximately once a month. I wonder sometimes if the ANT+ part of the software falls over. But for me, just a watch reboot clears it.

This morning did a first run with 8.40. I had no issues connecting my RD Pod which I did not use for months. Normally I run with HRM Run. Also no issues with navigation was spot on al the time. After 1h40 run (RD Pod , GPS+Glonass, phone was connected) battery dropped around 14%, at the moment do not notice any extra battery usage after the activity.

Did my first run with 8.40 and up to now I do not percieve any difference. Wifi still does not sync at home, although the connection check is fine (syncs perfectly at work).

Quality ot the track was very good, so was connection to the sensors (HRM, Tempe, Footpod).

That’s good to know as I’m off out tomorrow and I have similar sensors. What gps settings your using? GLONASS, GALILEO?

with the update my fenix 5x plus have the "assistant" on controls that you can ask for help from the contacts you choose for crash detection (since 7.60). from connect app i can choose pace pro for a run but the device is not compatible!
