After update to beta 7.52 and TopoActive Europe ver. 2019.10 my additional maps started working again!
I don't know which of the two helped as I it happened at the same time.
Before that I had to delete…
Thank you.I didn't know 2019.10 was available already. While my problem wasn't related to Topo Pro maps, I tried this too.
I first installed just the map upgrade and after reboot, with a quick test…
Ok thanks for that how do you remove the maps.
After your watch is hooked up to your computer (needs to be a Windows computer), go into the /Garmin folder and scroll down until you see .IMG files. Delete accordingly...but be 100% sure that you’re deleting the correct map/maps.
That is the problem I do not know which maps to delete any ideas.

Before that I had to delete TopoActive Europe (at least one part of it) from the watch to see my addidional map

I first installed just the map upgrade and after reboot, with a quick test, it seemed to make loading maps much faster compared to the previous Topo Active 2018.20 Europe while still using firmware 7.10.
After that, I also upgraded to 7.52 beta, but didn't notice difference. (haven't tested with actual activity) but that might point to a problem with the 2018.20 maps rather than firmware.
Well you could be right, I noticed the problem with additional maps some time after the 2018.20 update
Garmin phone support (Germany) confirmed that there currently is an issue with rasterized maps on the 5 plus series and that they are working on it.
In my case it's the "Garmin Alpenvereinskarten v4" for the Alps that don't show up on the 5 plus
Hi just an update had to contact garmin to see if anything had been sorted about this issue was told it was still live and they were looking into it. It's a pity that they do not update you on things, I would try the new beta soft ware and try deleting maps but I am not confident in doing this and screw up the watch.
Hi @nick789uk I spotted that the Fenix 5 Plus is no longer listed as compatible with the 1:50000 TOPO Pro GB map. I was previously told by Garmin Support that it was compatible. I contacted Garmin today (web chat) and was told that that map is no longer supported on the Fenix 5 Plus. It seems that you and I are getting conflicting information from Garmin. This is a make-or-break issue for me. Thoughts?
Quick update: I had a chat with a helpful chap at Garmin Support. He spoke to the software team who said the 1:50k GB map is intended to be compatible with the Fenix 5 Plus. Garmin are currently investigating some issues, hence the website no longer claiming compatibility - hopefully temporarily.
