Fenix 5X plus widgets uninstalling themselves

I keep having my widgets uninstalling themselves. This has happened at least 4 times today. It normally includes the Weather; Notifications; My day; ABC; Calendar; Steps.
Is anyone else experiencing this?

Training Status; Last Sport; Music have never been affected.

Brand new to this watch but am frustrated with the apps re-ordering themselves, and the widgets disappearing or otherwise uninstalling themselves.  Specifically, the weather widget.  I will install it using the connect app, sync the watch, and the weather widget will be present and reporting as expected.  It might stay there a day, or just a few hours, but predictably, it will eventually be gone and I'll have to go reinstall on the Connect app.  Fenix 5x running software version 13.30 (3b06a30)..whatever that means!

I keep running into this as well. Exactly as you describe. It’s pretty frustrating.

Any follow up, Garmin-Heath? I’ll open a ticket to help. I can reliably reproduce.

I think the bug is triggered by installing/uninstalling an app via Garmin Connect (specifically app's, not data field, widget or watchface)

I can reliably reproduce by doing that - and IIRC it also rearranges the widgets alphabetically. I know widgets like Last Steps, Weather etc go every time

  • The best thing to do (as I made Garmin aware of this well over a year ago and it’s still not fixed), is set your apps first, then set your widgets. As long as you’re not monkeying around with your apps, your Widgets should be fine.

I vaguely remember reading somewhere that some .XML file on the watch is being incorrectly written.

Im getting the problem on Fenix 5x without installing any apps or anything. I tried reordering the widgets from my phone and from the watch and syncing after but both eventually revert back to default. I have topo maps installed and it might have something to do with using them but really I can’t pinpoint why/when it’s happening, just randomly at least a few times a day. Pretty frustrating.
