Everyone, I'm sorry for replying late here but I been looking into this for a while and finally heard back from the Garmin UK Connect team.
We are sorry, but this time, Revolut is not a compatible…
I have an open support call with Garmin over this but I can tell you that I have no idea why Revolut are listed as a bank inthe UK when Revolut themselves told me
a) Garmin Support is in "beta"…
I had another reply today - so I think they're still at it. Perhaps send em a quick "hey guys, any news" type of thing. They talked me through generating a new Fitpay ID to try but no joy....…
Well that's hilarious. They took it off the list and it now works...
Just managed to add my virtual card.
I think the virtual card might be the thing that makes it work. I couldn't add my physical card to Google Pay or my F5+, but my virtual card works with both.
Actually makes sense to use a virtual card in this situation anyway.
It has only just starting working with the virtual cards, previously said the bank was not participating.
I’ve just set it up - confirmed now working! Amazing for when abroad!
works fine for me, in Sweden. With Revolut.
Yeah I'm in the UK and just managed to add a Revolut virtual card to Garmin Pay!
Strange and ironic that Revolut has now been taken off the compatibility list but now actually works!
BTW even though Garmin has removed Revolout from the UK List - I can confirm that not only can you add a Revolut Virtual card (you generate a virtual card from within the Revolout app) but it also works as I tested it with a purchase today!
Is it still working?
Although, for physical cards the terminal may request a PIN above a certain limit, for digital cards like Garmin Pay and Apple Pay it is not the case, as you do the authentication on the device prior to the transaction. When you "digitize" your card (assign it to Garmin Pay) you also have to create a new PIN that you have to enter on the device before you can pay with it. In this sense, if you use your watch / phone for payment you always have to authenticate yourself, not just above a certain limit, however, the authentication is different from the original method (card's PIN). That's why you can assign even a virtual card to your Garmin Pay wallet even though it doesn't have a PIN.
