Hello Fenix 5x Plus users,

We have new beta software ready for your upcoming adventures!

Fenix 5X Plus: https://www8.garmin.com/support/down...s.jsp?id=14335

Note: Please allow for the updates to propagate across all servers. There is no need to post that the link does not work. It will after a bit of patience.

6.51 Change Log Notes:
• Fixed an issue where the device was reporting extremely high values for Bike powermeter.

Please note, the beta updates released on these forums are not suitable for APAC region devices.

Please send all bug reports to "][email protected], and indicate which model of the fenix 5 Plus series you have in the subject line.
• I can’t attest to how the beta version is, but 6.00 is fine for me.

I did a test, ran Pulse Ox for 12 hours and my battery went from 89% to 79%. Turned it off for 12 hours and the battery went from 79% to 77% (just using it as a watch and smart notifications).

The 5x Plus by far has the best battery life of any of the Fenix 5 series watches. I upgraded to the 5x Plus after giving up on the Descent MK1.
• Sleep Pulse OX doesn't work for me at all.
Acclimation All Day doesn't work and if i tried to do a manual check, it stay in "Measuring" forever.

i have to put it Manual and then I can read the spO2

I have tried FW5.1/6/6.51 and I am kind of wondering if the problem is the watch

Garmin is not answering me, this is a fu**** 1050 $CAD watch that is not up to my expectations and GARMIN is ignoring me and I would say EVERYONE that complain about the Pulse Ox, which is the SELLING FEATURE of the F5x Plus

If anyone else can confirm that they have hourly readings with Acclimation All Day and night readings with Sleep Pulse Ox please let me know so I can return the watch.

Thanks
Marcel

I’m getting a “entitlement” vibe here...

That said, manual readings work just fine for me. What no one talks about and seemly is missed, is that the reading needs you to stay still which is fine if you knowingly are taking the readings. If you set it to “All Day” I feel this is a bit unrealistic since the average person isn’t going to stop what they’re doing every 15 minutes.

Selling feature of the F5X+ is the O2 readings ...
There is no entitlement, it is getting for what you have paid for and for what is ADVERTISED ...

Imagine if you buy a car that the ABS is the selling feature -you paid extra for that- and then when you want to use the manufacturer says
"You can use the feature only in summer conditions when temperature is above 25 C"

Do you still believe that complain is "entitlement' or not?
• The 5x+ has many selling features outside of the Pulse Ox feature. But when you “complain” that Garmin is ignoring you (like you want special treatment) and that it doesn’t meet your “expectations”, then yes it sounds like entitlement.

This watch is still in its infancy stage, they’ll eventually get the kinks worked out. If you bought this watch just for the Pulse Ox feature like you implied, then return it and find something else. Otherwise, give them time and enjoy the numerous other features that work fine.

Be happy that this watch is getting updated and worked on, try being a Descent MK1 owner who hasn’t seen an update since August.
• I'm on my second 5x Plus, first one had ABC problems. Had to send it in Assistance twice, each time had to wait 3 WEEKS to get it back! After numerous emails to Garmin Italy, the second time I sent it in Assistance, they changed it with a new one. The new one, received it sealed, worked fine just for 2 DAYS, after that the screen started to flicker when I am using a watch face with seconds activated, even the stock one does it. For the moment, I'm in vacation and I am hoping that next week when I return to Italy and I will send the 5X Plus for the 3 time in Assistance, I will not have to wait another 3 weeks to get it back. Hope that this time, they will send a properly working one.
I have another problem, I'm trying to activate the private messages for my username on this forum, but when I check the "save changes", NOTHING happens.

I reported this to the forum admins a few weeks ago. They are aware. That's all I know at this time. :(

This is the classic COMPARE TO THE WORST.. so I do not feel so bad for being bad... and I am not like that, I compare myself to the best so I can improve...

If GARMIN it is not answering MY EMAILS... then GARMIN is ignoring ME... no one else...

Pulse Ox is what I was looking for, nothing else, I do no use the maps on my watch and for longer runs I have the Suunto 9 Baro Black with 120 hours in Ultratrac mode

I was trying to buy a Huawei Watch GT but still not available in NA, so I decide for F5X+

So far... was the wrong decision ...

• Then return the watch if Pulse Ox is the ONLY reason why you bought the watch.

On a side note, I’ve always been a person who believes in resolving problems either in person or over the phone. To many people take the easy, lazy way of doing things by trying to resolve issues just via email.

But I suppose if they don’t have any answer for you, they can’t respond to you...
• I am wondering how come there are users that they have no problems with Pulse Ox.
They can see Acclimation All day as well as Sleep Ox.

Is this a faulty watch?
Is a FW that can fix it?

I am just looking for answer to decide what to do. Change the watch for another? Return it and get refund?

If I am not the only one with problems (there are a few owners with same issue), then chances are it's the watch.
If there are several owners with the same issue, chances are it's FW and can be fixed. Just need to wait.

Garmin is ignoring my request for support.
Did you ever contacted Garmin support?
How is the response from Garmin support for you?
I have called them and i have to hang up because NOBODY answer the good damn call...
