"Added support for the Spotify Connect IQ Music App"

Yeah, superb GARMIN! ... that's all your customers were waiting for...
AGAIN NO BUGFIXES AT ALL??? WTF!!!!
• AllanOlesen67 Send me a message about Twitter, I want to hear your suggestions on that. On the subject of Virtual Pacer, working on that and even is one of the features on my personal list I am keeping an eye on. Also, great come back!

Heath, I think you misunderstood my post. I do not have suggestions regarding the usage of Twitter. I don't even use Twitter myself.

But you should really look at the contents of the Twitter post which I linked to. It seems to come from an official Garmin account, stating that recurring goals are on Garmins's road map. The post has its 9 year birthday today. Since then, nothing has happened regarding recurring goals. It has not been implemented, and Garmin has been dead silent - not even a follow-up in their own Twitter post.

That is not a way to stay involved with your user base.

I have a weekly goal which I have to create from scratc every bloody week because the recurring goals functionality is still missing in Garmin Connect. All that is needed is a checkbox for making this week's goal recur the next week, and a very tiny bit of code to bring that functionality into effect. After 9 years, that has still not been done.

And while I understand that Garmin will have to implement some porn features in their sports watches to compete with Apple, I still think that the emphasis should be on the sports part of the watch. Meaning that stuff like recurring goals and racing an earlier activity are important functions, and music functions are less important.

Well this is awkward, I just sent you a private message a few hours ago Forerunner asking if you were willing to work with me directly and asking where you live so I can try to get my hands on your device directly so I can test your watch on some of the issues you are reporting in all the threads you are heavily active in. So if you do not want to work with me directly, I fully understand but that offer still stands.

Everyone else. Thank all of you for all your honest comments in the forums. Trust me, we at Garmin are actively reading the forums and honestly, all of your comments matter to all of us here. Personally, I have enjoyed it so much that I am trying to take a more active role here and trying to interact with all of you the most that I can but I'm trying to still get a good rhythm to be able to still test everyone that is here and to be able to also comment in every thread that I personally can help out the most. Could I personally do better at it? Yes, we all have that trait of trying to push ourselves in life no matter if it is your current workout, to the next race and even when it comes to working. Due to that fact, that is why I want to be here more for you and be more active for all of you. So I'm sorry for that, and also I'm sorry for the bugs that you might be found on your devices. Just know that we at Garmin are here because of all of you, and even though we are not commenting, we sure are listening to your comments. If you think we should do more, let me know. Send me a private message on here, yell out to me or just reach out to our beta team since they know how to get a hold of me. If you do want to help make your product better, then contact our Garmin Support when you see an issue or work with the beta teams to test new software "][email protected].

To address some of the comments I saw in just this thread:

bjornhellstrom Thank you for your comments, I honestly came in early today because I could not sleep after reading the great comments in the thread about Spotify last night so I might have come in early just to take a few send off a few emails to everyone this morning to let them know about the comments here and elsewhere too. (https://forums.garmin.com/forum/on-the-trail/wrist-worn/fenix-5-5s-plus/1407024-spotify-app).

crutlefish I have already sent you a private message before I even decided to write this reply. I look forward to hearing your views on what I can do more in the forums and maybe what I can suggest to others too.

Plongeur92 Working on sleep data and do to that, we would be happy to have you beta testing and providing us with more feedback so we can me it everything you want it to be.

HeartR I so want to find a way to reproduce the battery dropping here so I can provide those steps to the people that need to know. I have worked with Product Support and if you are willing to contact them, they got a list of questions to ask you and mattering on your current location they might ask to bring in your device so that I can personally look at it. So far, every device I have brought in has not shown what the user said it would. I do not know if it is like when you take the car into the mechanic and everything is working then or if I am missing some small piece of data that you might be doing and I am not doing. So if you are willing to contact us, provide us with those answers and maybe provide any other data on how to reproduce it here, trust me! We want to hear from you!

Firstly, thank you Garmin-Heath for taking the time to reach out and let everyone know that Garmin is listening, it's nice to hear from an official representative. I know the correct process is to leverage the Fenix5 Beta team however knowing that these forums are monitored and more importantly, listened too, is really great to hear. Thank you for reaching out to the different individuals and hopefully you can resolve the minority of issues identified on this forum. Contrary to believe on this forum, I personally believe that the majority of users are more than happy with their devices and feel they are fit for purpose. There will always be teething problems on new devices whether that is software or hardware but having such a 'forum' to discuss and work on these issues is great, I know so many tech companies that don't offer this or a voice for their customers. Keep up the good work, I know it cannot be easy!

carl.andersson wise words!
• To me there are 3 major bugs that still affect my Fenix 5 Plus:
-1 battery meter (stuck or jumping from 100% to 9X% after disconnecting from charger)
-2 pool swim: interval pace and interval swolf data fields are not displayed while swimming, they appear only when you stop the activity or press "lap".
-3 elevation profile issue (same as Fenix 5X) that is well reported here : https://forums.garmin.com/forum/on-t...gating-a-route , and here: https://forums.garmin.com/forum/on-t...totally-random

They have been months that i reported these issues to beta team but are still here... Elevation profile issue is here since January (FW 7.XX) on Fenix 5X.

@renton82...
Don’t know if this helps, but I seem to have Int pace and SWOLF fields if needed.
In the Swim activity go to Settings and Data Screens.
Then scroll down to “Add New”.
Add “Custom Data”, and then shoes layout and data fields.
YOu can reorder the screen to place it where you want on the screen cycles.

I think you have been trying to change the data screen denoted as “Rest Screen”. This shows up when you press the lap key.

Anyway, works for me. Hope it works for you.

Thanks, but i have added these data fields and they remain "--:--" until i press "lap" or stop the activity, i'm not talking about rest screen. However, they have fixed this issue in latest Fenix 5/5X 10.58 beta " Fixed an issue where the interval pace data field could be dashed out during a Pool Swim activity. "
• If only i could wear on my left wrist without dropouts! Music was one of the key reasons I upgraded and it’s useless. I’m taking a phone or Nano with me on all my runs.
• When will 5.10 be rolled out to APAC? We're still on 4.20, FFS.

Me too, forcing users to wear a watch on a different wrist most people use is ridiculous. Poor BT signal paired with poor audio quality and volume in general makes it pretty much unusable as an all in one device. I really want an excuse to sell my AW but unfortunately it goes on every run so I can get a consistent high quality audio experience. After the run the F5+ sits on my desk until the next run......

Hopefully Garmin can tweak the firmware to get a good BT connection on EITHER wrist - I can look past the audio quality and volume just to be able to wear it on the same wrist all day.

Does the AW work for music when on your left wrist? Does it work with Spotify?
• i am really happy for everyone who gets his/her feature they longed for. nonetheless i bought this devices as someone replacing his older forerunner 735xt and adding some new features wihich seeemed to sound interesting like music and garmin pay. both do not work for me for now (garmin pay not available in my country whch i knew before, music only works with my many headphones when wearing the fenix on my right wrist). but what i did really expect from this watch is that it will be an essential part of my traiing and those features still do not work. and for people like me it is annoying how garmin neglects just everything customers report as bugs and only work on features which may raise the seeling numbers.
