Apple watches have OLED displays, and that is one of the reasons why their battery lasts 1 day, compared to the Fenix, which lasts 10 days.
The fenix is a real outdoor watch, designed for a long battery life and great display outside!
If you want a great indoor display, why didn't you buy a watch with a smartphone like display?
I totally agree. The data screens of my Fenix 1 were well readable without backlight even in dim twilight. The visibility of maps is of course much better on the newer watches - so everything is a compromise…
Just alternative facts, but don't dry your poodle dog in a microwave!
There are also Garmin watches with AMOLED screen (Venu). Readability of that type of display in bright sunlight would probably not be as great as a transflective LCD though.
Yeah. It's not great, and a very cheap quality chip, see what huawei did with their display and 14-30 days battery life.
I have assembled many garmins and the display chip is of a low quality kind, and the backlighting is equally poor.
It's very strange on such an expensive watch.
Huawei claims 10h with GPS, that's not really impressive...
According to a test in Runners World the watch is not even able to take and store lap splits - this is even rediculous!
