HRM Run metrics not recording after 2 minutes on Fenix 5 Plus

I recently just upgraded my fenix 3 to the Fenix 5 plus. I have noticed that during running activities the following metrics are not recording past 2 minutes: Stride Length, Vertical Ratio, Vertical Oscillation, Ground Contact time, Ground contact time balance. The only metric that is recording correctly besides HR is Cadence, which might be coming from watch directly and not HRM run??

I am pretty sure it is not an issue with the HRM Run because all worked fine with the fenix 3. Any run I have had with the Fenix 5 doesn't display which has only been two runs. ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1386477.png

There is a pretty big thread on this one already. Try running with the bluetooth connection between your watch and phone disabled.

As of two weeks ago my 5S+ is now dropping connection to my Garmin external HRM and also my Stryd. Happens anywhere between 55 minutes to 1:20 minutes into my run. Weird thing is that it was fine for the first several runs I did with it.

Tried the suggestion to not have BT connected to my phone but still had the problem.

So I can't use my 5S+ as a smartwatch because the battery drains at 2% - 3% per hour, can't use it as a running watch because it doesn't make reliable ANT+ connection, and it sucks for open water swimming. Really, Garmin? This Fenix 5S+ is a bust!

This does not sound the same as the the issue others are reporting in this thread, as they are still able to connect to other sensors (like Stryd) and still get HR from the strap (it’s just the RD data that drops). Given that these things did work on your watch and now don’t, so more likely a settings corruption than hardware failure, the first thing to try would be delete the sensor pairings and then re-pair them. If that doesn’t work then a master reset may be required (PITA though it is to set everything back up after). Failing all of that, contact Garmin Customer support in your country/region. Tthey’ll almost certainly ask you to try the master reset before referring your case on to someone who actually knows about the watch in detail; but af least give Garmin a chance to provide you service.

It worked on my fenix 3 watch. It has never worked on my fenix 5 plus. It is the same issue as the other thread. One new note, the other thread mentioned shutting off bluetooth while doing a run and it is suppose to fix the issue. The problem, I don't have a bluetooth setting on my watch to shut off bluetooth. Everything I read says to hold the light button and go to the bluetooth icon. Well...it is not there. I have no way to shut off bluetooth on my watch

I noticed the same and then did a "test". I now turn off the "Phone" on the my watch (I don't use it for music) while I run, then after the run, I do a "download Hr data" and that seems to work... though clunky solution,
