How does climbPro define/create climbs?

Hallo 5plus users,

has anybody already made some experience with the new climbPro feature? How does the climbsPro feature define/create climbs? Is there a minimum for ascent needed (for example the climb must have an ascent > 60 meters before the climpPro feature creates a climp for it)? For the used course, the elevation plot in basecamp and on the watch itself looks the same. I would say three (1./2./3. see pics) climbs (but for shure two (1. + 3.). The climbPro feature on my 5x+ (fw 3.10) is just showing one climb. Is there something wrong?

To be clear, if I use zoom for the elevation plot in basecamp, the elevation plot looks (almost) like the shown climb. Of course I have seen courses with many climbs in the climbPro feature, I just want to understand the way it works (and used this course for asking).;) ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1371204.jpg ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1371205.bmp ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1371206.bmp ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1371211.jpg

I went on a hike a couple weeks ago which you can see here:

    https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/3154615129

If you check out the elevation graph, the hike to the summit is a constant climb with a gain of nearly 5,000 feet in less than 5 miles. ClimbPro showed only one climb and it was for the entire climb up to the summit. There may have been a stretch of level trail for about a few hundred feet, but ClimbPro disregarded it. It would have been nice to show 2-3 climbs for that hike, but really, it is a constant climb.

On another hike, ClimbPro showed climbs where there really wasn't any. For instance, it showed a 50ft climb when in fact it was more like a 10ft climb. I'm wondering if having higher resolution maps like the 24k TopoActive maps would have helped ClimbPro in that regard.
  • Hi

one simple question: presently I use a 5X and the biggest issue for me is that I can only get the actual and average vertical speed on the watch but this important parameter it is not recorded in the activity log file so you cannot keep trace of the vertical speed in your log file!
with this new function is this something possible now?
    thank you
