I fully agree with the above. Please give us a way to manually measure a shot. Once in a while I hit a good shot and I am very curious to know how long that shot was. I will have to ask my friends with…
Absolutely echo-ing the above. I do not understand why they didn't just include the option 'New shot' or 'End measurement' to manually overwrite the malfunctioning auto-shot-detection. Please Garmin this can really be a quick fix for the select button for example.
I contacted tech support today and was told to wash the watch because the sensor port may not be functioning properly due to contaminants. I’ll give it a try.
I was also told that the multi-sport watches like this don’t perform as well as the sport specific watches. This feature in my S69 worked well. I was also told that the tech support person had used this feature on the 6x and it worked well.
Don't get your hopes up that washing the watch will accomplish anything. The reality is that the golf app on the 5 Plus is brutal. The Approach S3, which I purchased in 2012 and still use to this day, outperforms the app on this device because it allows me to measure all shots and also save custom yardage points. I went through two 5 Plus devices and AutoShot was consistently unreliable off the tee.
I have since upgraded to the 6 Sapphire and the golf app works flawlessly. It automatically picks up every tee shot, I have full color hole maps that provide yardages to any point on the course, pin pointer, custom yardage points. As far as I can tell, the app on the 6 is exactly the same as the one on the S62.
Completely agree. I have requested in Support / Ideas place.
Agree with this point too! Why have they created these arbitrary constraints adding little/no value that I can discern?
Has Garmin addressed this at all? It is still auto detect for shots which is super unreliable. Really would like to just push a button to record a shot.
Is there a customer service number that i can call to register the same issue without being on hold forever?
