Agree - all working on my end, mores now I understand how the device works along IOS on my iMAC.

Key points for MAC users, with GE under options tell 'GE NOT TO KEEP RUNNING IN THE BACK GROUND', download Android File Transfer and install.

Once thats done and your finished with GE exit and launch Android the device will show up.

    IT DOES WORK :-)

I also appreciate as a MTP device no eject procedure means worry and less issues when copying BETA files etc over to the device.

Hope this helps, please give me a yell if still confused.

    Cheers,

    CAM

I am still confused. Are you saying that you use AFT and don't need GE? Or that AFT will help GE work?

    Thanks in advance

Additionally, I am super confused because this worked fine. MacOS, Fenix 5x+ at some point, either a MacOS update, or Fenix update broke this :-(
  • Android File Transfer gives you a file system type of interface to copy files. Garmin express is how Garmin pushes updates and such to the device. Each app CANNOT be running the same time as the other. So if you are updating firmware or watch apps, then run Garmin Express. If you want to manually copy files, etc to the watch use Android File Transfer. I think thats what he is trying to say.
  • Garmin fenix 5x does not work with latest version MACOS ... garmin express don't recognise the watch (original USB cable). The connection works with MACOS 10.12.
