Music not working properly

Hi all,

on my Fenix 5 Plus the Music reacts with significatns delay (if at all). It takes seconds to scroll through the options.
But even worse, it takes several minutes for the music to start (if it starts at all).

If another widget/app (like running) is started afterwards, the music sometimes stops and will never restart again (however I still see the song continuing, but hear nothing).
Only chance to restart is to completely reset the watch.

Does someone experience similar things?
And idea how to solve?

Thanks
Kai

  • If you continue to have an issue viewing and playing music from your watch, please try the following:

    - Turn your watch off then back on again, test again

    - Soft Reset: with your watch on, hold…

  • I am having the same problem with my Plantronics Backbeat Fit headphones. If I leave the music widget open it'll stay on longer but still end up disconnecting. I just emailed support.
  • Rebooting the watch seems to have fixed it as I was able to go for a 30 min walk with out the headphones disconnecting.
  • I have experienced a very similar issue today.

    1. I opened music player via a hotkey
    2. I selected the "play" option
    3. Garmin connected to my headphones (I could hear a successful connection "beep" in the headphones")
    4. The music never started playing, even though I "pressed" play button multiple times.

A reboot of the wach has fixed the issue.

I can play music through my Apollo 7 earbuds but the minute I start an activity such as treadmill or any other the music will stutter and connection gets dropped and intermittent and will be all jittery and sound like a ffwd button was pressed. I will try rebooting tonight.

Omg simply rebooting the watch fixed everything for me!! Garmin wallet is now all set up with chase amazon visa prime and I’ve got music playing perfectly to the headphones. So happy I’m about to do a few back flips!!!

I am also using Apple AirPods and although they are not recommended by Garmin for use with the 5 Plus series, they are working fine for me. I have found that in addition to rebooting, it is sometimes necessary to go thru Settings - Sensors & Accessories in the menu and turn off the headphone connection, and then turn it back on. If for some reason the AirPods will not connect, delete them and then let the watch discover them again. I hope this helps.

can somebody please help me I am trying to delete music form my watch but can't seem to get it to work?I have updated iTunes playlists updated and restarted watch and resented but still not working?
  • The lower portion of the music screen in Garmin Express shows the music on your watch. You can select what you want to delete.
  • this didnt work..  it seems that i connect to earbuds - hit a playlist - then the screen doesnt show a song - just the play button and next button but nothing happens..
