Version 8.00 available?

Just thought I'd give a head's up that I've been prompted to install version 8.00! Was a bit puzzled when Garmin Express said my descent was software version 8.00, so I unplugged it and got the install update prompt upon loading. Go go go?

    I don't have Galileo, still only Glonass

    That's strange, I've definitely got Galileo on mine. Same software version as you.

    The GPS firmware number changed with the added support for Galileo. Occasionally the firmware needs to be installed again separately to update successfully. Download WebUpdater and the Descent will detect an update available for the GPS. Once this is installed you will have Galileo available on your Descent.

    Everyone, sorry about the delay for posting the software update but since it is a phased roll-out we did not want to cause any confusion with some people getting the update and others not getting the update but do to all your comments, we have posted the changelog notes in the forums for everyone to see. 

    If anyone sees anyone concern that they have not got the update in this forum or any of the other forums all of you are in, please explain to them that this is a phased rollout and increase this phase over time.

    Also, we did not list all the updates from the fenix 5x software updates from software version 10.20 to 13.30 since there is a long list and figured if anyone was interested if would look at the link. With that said, if anyone wants to organize and post it for everyone, feel free too, we fully understand.

     Even though I hope this is not the case, if you do somehow find any issue, please let the Garmin Support teams know right away.  and I will be watching the forums, but it is still best to bring this to someone's attention in the support teams too, so it does not get overlooked.

    We hope you all enjoy this new software and the use of the device.

    Yes, it has to be updated to version 2.50.

    2.50??? I already has GPS 4.40!!!

    The 2.50 GPS version is the updated version from 4.40. If your Descent does not show Galileo available you can follow the same steps I outlined for Odie above and it should update your GPS firmware.

    Hey Garmin-Heath,

    do you know how long it will approximately take  for a 100% Roll-Out?

    Was reading and waiting here for the new version for months like Odie21 and now I am not in the 50% that get the update...

    And... I would like to go diving this weekend...

    Any experience about how long I have to wait? Any other Option for installing 8.0?
