device reporting: 'too hot' ?!

Question

I am getting the following message; 'Cannot range. Device is too hot'. and as such cannot reset or use the device. is there anything I can do to reset or otherwise?

Hello, does the device feel hot to the touch? Have you tried shutting it down and letting it sit for awhile before using it again?

You can try resetting all of the device settings to the factory default values. 
 Select: Settings > System > Restore Defaults 
 The other option is to try updating the software on the device using the steps on the support page linked below
