Montana 700, advice for a case?

The Gizzmo vest custom made case has now been releases, I have only found it on Amazon.com and ebay.com (US sites not UK) at the moment and it is quite expensive, however having used these products on previous models I can say that the protection they offer is probably unrivaled whilst giving full functionality. They bulk up the unit a bit but this is where the protection comes from

Not sure if this helps, as it's less a "case" and more a carry method. I took apart a Motorcycle mount for my Montana 700i and added two BladeTech MolleLok fasteners. The holes lined up perfectly, and I can orient it in either direction when carrying it. It will also take the BladeTech belt clip, but only in a landscape direction. It would not be hard to drill additional holes for it to be oriented in Portrait. This allows me to mount it to any molle strap compatible bag or platform.

Just purchased this and my Montana 700i fits perfectly. The device sticks out a little from the top, the bungee cord nicely holds the garmin from falling out. Highly recommend this case

Tired of trying stuff that didn’t work, I bought 4 different pouches at once from Condor and tried them all to see what works best:

• Gadget pouch—too small, won’t close without modification to the clip flap or leaving the zipper portion unzipped.
• Radio pouch—serviceable, but snug enough that I know it will be a super annoying to use. Also have concerns that interior components might cause screen damage. 
• Phone pouch—fits if you leave the antenna poking through the zipper, snug enough that that may not present a major retention concern, not so snug that you’ll hate it. Plus: can also carry a full sized (plus-series) iPhone in the outer Velcro. 
• BEST OPTION: their “GPS pouch” which I didn’t even bother to look at at first because I assumed it was too small like every other “gps” pouch I’ve encountered—but the interior is the perfect size to fully enclose the Garmin Montana 700i, zips fully, and IS PADDED. Drawback: the outer Velcro pocket is too small to close over a plus-series iPhone, but I suspect the smaller iPhones would work. Outer pocket would also be ideal for a small notebook, SMALL folded paper map, or maybe the charge cable and:or spare battery. 

All of these pouches are MOLLE, but you could also easily clip them over a regular backpack strap or your belt. 

Yeah, thank you a lot for sharing your photos! Very useful. You know, pouches can be really different, lol. I mean, I ordered many of these kraft pouches last week: www.interplas.com/.../kraft-stand-up-pouches. Mostly I use them for my products, like dried fruit, homemade marmalade, etc. I think your idea is very reasonable because the pouch seems to be extremely comfortable. What do you think of it? Cause I’m currently trying to choose the same one. I’ve never thought a choice could be so difficult. Anyway, waiting for your replies. Best wishes, folks.

UPDATE:

I tried the above but the case was too narrow to fit the Montana 750i. 

I ordered this and this one is a great fit. It has a zip which goes over the device just enough to have a good snug fit. Also comes with a shoulder strap which I wont be using and a belt strap which I will. There are two pockets in it so enough to carry something slim too. I think this case seems to the best one out there for the Montana. They are available in different colours too.
