Yes, quite buggy at times but AFAIK new firmware is around the corner

Well, this is something completly diffrent, new hardware, touch screen with buttons, the first of tis kind so I eyxpected it will be a bit buggy but not so much...

What the ***? That was one of the features that sold me on H1i.

I am so glad I didn't pull the trigger yet. This launch seems more half-baked than Garmin usual put on sale bwfore ready.

That they removed it from the site has me worried they won't include it again - or the more nefarious version: that they don't want to have returns due to false advertising.

Garmin couldn’t fix all the bugs on the 67i. They told  me that they didn’t have the resources. They were obviously working on their best paper weight yet. So glad I didn’t buy such an expensive piece of junk!

My Garmin history goes back as far as the gps map 38, but it’s ending after many models with the 67i and its current unresolved bugs being the final frustrating straw. If you bought a new phone and it worked like the H1, you would return it. Wouldn’t you?

If you all have a long history with Garmin devices, none of this should surprise you. What would be surprising is if everything actually worked properly in a release...

Btw: I think a purchase warning is an exaggeration.

Everyone has the right to do with their money what they want.

However, I think that there are still so few H1 buyers that this hasn't been properly voiced on internet forums. What you can see on YouTube or in other social media is generally paid marketing disguised as 'tests.'

Although there are also objective tests, for example, a user called 'GPSRadler' on YT critically reviewed the H1 and stated that he wouldn't buy it.

So yes, if someone asked me, I would advise against buying the H1 until Garmin tries harder and the product is more refined.

I am waiting for the next update for 'Ascent Planning,' and I have already submitted a complaint about this matter. If they don't add it, I will return the device to the store.

Notice that the Etrex Touch website still has false information about 'Ascent Planning,' and yet it's twin software.

Also, look at the Garmin Singapore website – 'Ascent Planning' is still listed there for the H1.

I feel deceived by the misleading advertising; in my opinion, this is not fair play.

My unit has stopped working. It kept going into the start up loop. I did a complete factory reset and now it won’t go beyond the start up loop no matter what I do. I’ve tried every combination of buttons with and without it been plugged in. But nothing. This is appalling after two months light use. So it’s going back. Not happy at all. 

That's worse than useless. It's outright danegerous withnthe type of bugs this thing has.

I may have to reconsider my christmas purchase of the h1i plus. Not only until.the the bugs have been fixed, but until I actually trust that these severe failings are indeed fixed.

Haven't seen any great reviews on Youtube videos. HikingGuy had a fairly critical video and the GPS Training channel just has some basic use demonstrations.
