67i clock one hour off

My GPSMap 67i displays daytime exactly one hour off, it is always 1 hour earlier than official time.

Issue has started roughly 2 months ago, I own the device for more than a year, never had any other problem with it.

Software version is 9.10

Time settings are 24h and auto day light saving and correct time zone is selected (Europe West in my case)

Changing to manual day light saving does not make any difference (changing now to winter time makes it to show 2 hour difference obviously)

Situation persists even after longer periods of active tracking. Location etc is displayed as normal

Synced many times with both Garminn Express on my PC and Explore on my Android phone, without further issues

Also software on PC and phone are up to date

Any idea how to fix this?

  • Mine works fine, 24 hour and automatic or set to Canada Pacific Region, either one but you can’t have both of course. What if you just select automatic instead of  Europe West ? Version 9.10  Has there been any new time zone changes in your area other than the daylight savings time change? Did it go screwy when the daylight savings time change occurred ?

  • Where are you located and are you sure West Europe is the correct timezone for that location?

Also try setting the timezone configuration setting to Automatic, the device will then use the correct timezone based on the GPS position. See Main Menu > Setup > Time > Time Zone.

  • All I can offer is check settings, maybe even try a setting that doesn't seem exactly correct to you.

I'm driving across the continent and have passed 3 time zones (2 more to go) without issue.  BTW, firmware is 9.10.

  • Hi all,

Thanks a lot for the suggestions. As is in many cases, the answer was not all that complicated:

As I am living in the Netherlands, which obviously is a western-European country, I thought setting the time zone to Europe-West is the most logical setting. As suggested, I have switched it to 'automatically', which indeed solved the issue. This setting apparently equals Europe-Central, which is fine, but seems odd in the first place.

I believe the setting has originally be on 'automatic' too, I must have forgotten having changed it to something else.

Anyway, everything back to normal again. Thanks again for all the help, topic can be closed

  • Correct, Netherlands is in Central Europe Time (or Central Europe Summer Time). Western Europe time zone includes Iceland, British Isles and Portugal.

But the Automatic setting is indeed most convenient, no need to think about what time zone you are in Slight smile
