67i turning on by itself

Twice now I went to use my 67i and found it dead, about two weeks after I last used it and fully charged it. I normally store it in the Garmin soft case. So I started to wonder, did I turn it off, how long should a charge last with the device off? So yesterday I was playing with it for a bit and three times  I noticed that when I turned it off, it powered back on about 10 seconds later. It was not in the case. It’s not something I can currently duplicate though it seems random. Has anyone else had this happen? V8.80 software, and I’m not sure if it did this previous to V8.80. There was a post about 3 years ago on a 66i doing this, but no posted cause or resolution.

    Worst time that could happen, haha!

    Now that I think about it, I've had two freezes similar to yours. We went on a vacation for a week and we hiked and ran every day. I tested the unit a lot during the week hiking, and I remember having two freezes where anything I did I couldn't recover the device, even long pressing the power button or trying key combos found online. 

    Reading around the forum and seeing issues with brand new units leads me to think that the device has unfixed inherent issues, which is kinda sad as it has huge potential. Not to mention the extremely chaotic UI /software that seems it was designed by multiple people contradicting themselvesJoy

    It was me who @KiwiGPS mentions above with the problem of the GPS restarting itself after turning it off. I did the Master Reset as mentioned and am pleased to report that I haven't had the problem reoccur since. All the stuff I wanted to keep on the GPS was on the SD card and the reset didn't touch those. That left the profiles but I had backups of those. So thank you KiwiGPS.

    Even after a reset I can make mine do it anytime I want but Garmin doesn’t care!
