Hello forum, I have a question for you. I have just upgraded to GPSMap67i from 66s due to better battery and satellite communication in one. However, it appears I have gone backwards for what I require from this device. Previously I could store up to 600+ waypoints to navigate and identify when needed, and import polylines for property boundaries, etc. However, now have to create collections in Explore, not a deal breaker but require re-organization of my data, which may be a good thing. Where I come unstuck is when creating waypoints. On any given day, might create up to 50-100 waypoints based on features in the landscape. Important information recorded include location coordinates, date, time, altitude and description. On my 66s I used DNR Garmin to extract waypoints and tracks into csv file and import into GIS. However, 67i does not communicate with DNR Garmin due to restrictions on output communication (good one Garmin). Data exported only as a .gpx file appears useless, when imported into spreadsheet (i.e xls / csv file) coordinates in lat/long and that's it, no date, projected coordinates, time, tag, anything. Tracklog seems to export ok, but again, missing critical information. I have tried numerous ways to export data, but come to a dead end each time.
I used to use Basecamp to manage my data, which worked fine, and happy to learn Explore, although slightly different approach to managing data. Regards Michael
