Preset show as empty on GPSMAP 66i

Hi!

We are using a GPSMAP 66i with a proffesional acount.

The content of preset messages (set in https://explore.garmin.com/) does not show in neither the explore app:

nor on the 66i:

I wonder what the trick is to make the content of the presets actually show up (like on the Garmin Inreach Explorer Plus).

We really should not have to carry a note to remind us what these messages are!

Yes I did solve this. If I recall correctly by making an individual Garmin user account for that particular unit and then log into the Garmin Explore App with that and update the presets.

Try making a small change to each preset. For example, add or change a punctuation mark. Then sync. IIRC, sync only sends things which it believes have changed.

Note: The message text on the server is what gets sent. It does not matter what shows on the device. But it is confusing if the device is out of date.

Hi and thanks for you suggestions. I tried what you suggested and synced via Explore app after unpairing and repairing, but nothing changed. It is next to useless not being able to see what the actual presets are and who will receive them. This is NOT the way it works with the good old inReach Explorer Plus:

Unpairing and repairing by itself won't do it. And should not be necessary. If it's going to help at all, you need to make a minor change to each of the three preset messages on the web site at explore.garmin.com. Then sync.

As I wrote above, I did try your suggestion, but it did not work. Unpairing and repairing was in addition following a trouble shooting guide by Garmin. It may be that these "Preset Message Content 1, 2, 3" is the normal and expected behavior BUT this is then a HUGE step back from how things worked on the inReach Explorer Plus!

What you see is not the intended behavior. Just checked my device. I can see both recipients and my actual text. However, it has been some time since I made any changes. So it's possible that something has broken in the meantime.

I suggest you open a support ticket.

Are you syncing with Explore app? What OS? What version?

Ok thanks! I will try that. I am led in circles by the Garmin support pages and have a hard time finding a place to actually open a support ticket as suggested.
