How to tag hole location (pin collect)

Is there a way to tag the hole location when using the CT1 club tracking system?

Thanks!

  • There is no option to mark hole location with the CT1 tags.

You can move the hole location on the watch once on the green but that isn't used in any statistics by Garmin.

  • I see. Thanks for the response. A couple follow up questions:

    Does Garmin do putting statics?

Does CT-10 allow you to mark the hole location?

I just came across this thread, sounds like maybe something is in the works?

Anyone try the "double tap green to mark hole location" feature in new beta? - Approach S70 - Golf - Garmin Forums

  • Using just the Approach S70 you can mark the flag location prior to stepping onto the green, by opening the green view screen and then you can move the flag location to the location of the actual flag on the green.

This will allow you to mark putt locations during the round using the S70, but you cannot club performance stats unless you have the Approach CT-10 sensors attached to your putter. The putt marking feature will simply show the putt locations referenceable on the scorecard you upload to the Garmin Golf app, like other shots are marked during the round.

  • Thanks for the response. I just want to clarify, if I have the CT10 tags I will see performance stats for putting, but not the CT1? And currently there is no way to mark the flag in either system. The only option is on the S70 watch.

    Is that correct?

This seems like a somewhat easy 'fix', just have the user tap their ct-1 tag to the watch at the flag stick and allow them to label it as flag.

  • Using a CT-10 sensor with a putter allows for the following putt stats to record:

    • The percentage of 1-putts, 2-putts, and 3-or-more-putts you make from short (< 10 feet or < 3 meters), medium (10-20 feet or 3-6 meters), and long (> 20 feet or > 6 meters) distances from the hole.

    • Putts per hole average.

The CT-1 will only assign the club to the shot distance measurement and do not provide the additional performance stats provided with the Approach CT-10 sensors.

The Approach S70 without any sensors has the putt location marking feature where the location of the hole can be marked manually by setting the flag location on the watch through the Green View screen prior to stepping onto the green for where the hole is located that day. Then once you are on the green at the location of your ball, tap the "Action" key on the upper right side of the watch to prompt the watch to mark the location via GPS.

There is no need to update the features for the CT-1 sensors for marking the flag location as this can be marked you are near enough to manually move the location in green view. Marking the flag simply allows the putt locations to be referenceable after the round like shot locations are viewed, with the flag being simply a point of reference on the scorecard after the round.
