CT1 or CT10 sensors

Hi all,

I have an S70 approach and was about to buy the CT10 sensors for game tracking.

ive just seen the CT1 sensors have been released today and are listed as compatible with S70.

what is the difference between the two sets of sensors. CT1s are half the price of the CT10s, but otherwise I can’t see what the benefit of buying the CT10s over the CT1s would be at double the price

thanks

    • Was having the same problem, used heat shrinking wrap to ensure they stayed put. No issues now.
  • If using the CT-10 sensors, I would not recommend heat shrink wrap especially if the shrink wrap is plastic based...the rubber heat shrink tubes used for soldering would also not be ideal as the heat could potentially weaken the rubber on your grip or result in cracking of the grip...and then anything covering the entire CT-10 sensor may affect the sensor waking up and pairing to the watch when pulled out of the bag...as the sensor uses light exposure to wake up and pair after being pulled out of the dark bottom of a golf bag.

One option that helps is using some plumbers tape around the threading of the sensor mount that screws into the breathe hole at the grip end. The plumbers tap can help thicken the threading if the breathe hole is larger on the specific brand of grips used on your clubs and holds pretty well against the rubber material of the grip.

Using plumbers tape however, is not officially recommended by Garmin for the design of the screw mount...so you will want to test this out on your own if you choose to see if viable in keeping the sensor secured.

    Hope this helps,

  • What about a spot of hot glue as you screw it down to the club?  Hot glue is easily removeable.  I check mine when I pull the club out but haven't had any issues.
