Unable to pair S70 with Iphone

Hi , i have S70 for quite sometime. One fine day, the watch somehow unable to pair with my iphone. Kept getting the "We're having problems talking to the Garmin Connect server. Try again"

I have done multiple things as below:

- Restart Phone

- Restart Watch

- Reset Data on Watch and Phone

- Uninstall GGA , log out and log in again , remove S70 device from my account , remove S70 from bluetooth settings on my phone

- Tried to use another iphone to pair

- Connect watch to Garmin Express and updated everything

What should i do now? Should i just bring to the service centre? I am not sure if updating it to the latest software made it this way.

  • Delete the Garmin Connect mobile app on your smartphone > Remove the bluetooth pairing in the Settings app of your smartphone where historical bluetooth connections are listed > Then put the watch into pairing mode and re-pair through the Garmin Golf app while the Connect mobile app is still uninstalled and it should pair up. 

  • I am having this issue now which started yesterday after the latest firmware upgrade. I have hard reset the watch, tried on multiple devices but having the same “server connection error”. It’s extremely frustrating as it is connecting to nothing now. Is it the firmware that is broken or some actual issue going on?

  • You may need need to re-pair the watch per the steps outlined in my previous response on this thread. 

    If you are still experiencing concerns with an error showing in the Garmin Golf app > Profile > My Devices section...please contact Garmin Support so they discuss account specific information in troubleshooting your concern to get it resolved. 

    Typically that error will occur if only the Garmin Connect mobile app is being used primarily without the Garmin Golf app being opened to sync the watch...or if the Garmin Golf app was offloaded by the smartphone...or if the watch was deleted from the account without the Bluetooth pairing being removed from smartphone settings before trying to re-pair the watch through the app. 

  • Unfortunately, I have done the re-pairing.. took about 100+ retries to finally pair the watch.

    The watch syncs but only for a few seconds before it disconnects now, which helps for some data but does not work reliably.. Reached out to Garmin Support but after the first email, I felt ghosted after providing my serial and a screenshot of the issue. Which is extremely upsetting considering that the support has always been widely praised here. 

    I have used the Garmin Golf App regularly to sync, especially during golf. 

  • Im having having the same problem.  I used it fantastically for a year. it started when my battry charge finished while on holiday. since then I cant pare it with my phone, golf and connect apps. i get a message "we're having problems talking to the Garmin Connect server. try again" 

    Can Garmen do something??????
