S70 Weather data is really off, and it's been couple month.

Weather data is completely off than all other official weather data. It started to happen after I got the 14.3x update as there wasn't any issue at all before that. I live in Vancouver and the weather currently showing 11 degree with highest 7 and lowest 6. It's been like that for couple month already where the current temperature is way over than the 'Highest' of today. It been like this every day. This is not the only issue, I tested the other day where current weather is 20 with lowest of 13 and highest of 20, but garmin shows current is 17 with lowest 7 and highest 13. Please look into this issue since it has been couple month already. I've been updating my location, update GPS, update my watch and is currently 14.69 and the issue is still not fixed.

  • It’s really not about the connection permission or data sync, it’s the certain location and city. I’m in Asia right now and it works just fine, but in Vancouver, BC the weather data was never right. Please look into it.

  • I see that my watch is v16.55 and there is a newer version already - do I wait for that to come down to my watch? Jimmy said rollout is at 5% so does that mean I need to wait for my app/garmin express to pick it up?

  • If the auto update is off, your watch will not update automatically.
    You can always update manually: settings/System/Software Update.

    When I travel to a new location, I alway update from the watch to make sure forecast is correct
    From weather forecast face: Information (action button)/Update your current location/Yes

  • I just went back from a trip to Asia and I can 100% confirm that the issue was the data itself that pulled from the sources. My watch has no problem getting weather data in Asia and everything is correct, high 31 low 22 current 26. As soon as I come back to great Vancouver area, I update my location on the watch and the weather data is off again. It says high 15 low 7 and current 21. Please check the weather on any website right now in Vancouver it’s not possible to get 7 degree at this time of the year. Where ever you pull the data from, the source is wrong. Please look into it because I can’t check the weather on my watch and it’s been almost a year since it first happened

  • The weather information for the default, Garmin developed features offered on the S70 are provided through the sync with the Garmin Golf app through your phone, relies on location services/permissions location permissions, and also are periodically updated throughout the day as long as the Garmin Golf app is running in the background.  

    When travelling from one country to another...especially when there major change in time zone, may require additional steps to refresh the current location to accurate...this is also assuming you are viewing weather information through the default weather widget or data field for a watch face face that comes preinstalled on the device...not a 3rd party app or widget installed from the Connect iQ Store offering "weather related" features. 

    *If you are viewing your weather info through a 3rd party weather app or widget you installed from the Connect iQ store...you must contact the developer regarding any concerns with the feature that developer is offering in that content. You can contact the developer from the download page in the Connect iQ store, by selecting the "Contact Developer" option on the page. They will then address your concern via email once they review the inquiry submitted to them. 3rd party content features require mobile data permissions to the Connect iQ Store utility installed to your phone, and update differently compared to default weather related features, synced over through the Garmin Golf app. 

    Before assuming the issue is a Garmin related bug...please contact Garmin Support to speak to a golf specialist if you are continuing to have concerns with the weather related features offered on your watch...then one of our experts can discuss the concern...determine the cause for why the weather not updating accurately for your location...and then further solutions can be offered to resolve it.
