Green Contours on S70 (versus S62)

Have there been any updates to the Green Contour feature on the S70 compared to the S62? I have given feedback on this before (see here: https://forums.garmin.com/outdoor-recreation/golf/f/approach-s62/298926/feedback-for-green-contours-on-s62) and find the feature on the S62 borderline unusable with no fixes in over a year.

Specifically I am curious about feedback #1 on the newer device, and the possibility of a hardware limitation on the S62 being the culprit. Does the S70 (since it has additional memory) streamline the download process any? Perhaps it just always has the contours downloaded for all courses, ready to be shown if you subscribe with no additional steps? Or is it the same broken nonsense as before?

Thanks in advance!

  • The Approach S70 will automatically update Green Contours by syncing with the Garmin Golf app. The five golf courses you use most frequently will be updated automatically when paired and synced with your smartphone. Green Contours will also automatically update when your Approach device is paired to the Garmin Golf app, and you start a round of golf on a course that supports Green Contours. Refer to your owner's manual for information on pairing to the Garmin Golf app.

Green Contours can also be viewed in the Garmin Golf app on your phone. The Garmin Golf app will automatically update Green Contours in the app when you view a course.

  • Thanks, sounds exactly the same as the frustrating and broken methodology that exists on the S62. What a shame.

  • The data must be synced over from the Garmin Golf app in this manner, due to  access to the Green Contour feature being subscription based through the Garmin Golf membership.
