I would really like to be able to download and “preview” a course before playing so I can think about and plan for shot selection. Is there any way to do this on the watch or the Garmin Golf app?
if not, that would be great feature to add.

Cody,
I would also appreciate this feature on the Gamin App (smartphone). Ultimately, I'd like to view each hole of a course I am about to play, just to get familiar with the layout and club selection…
I would like this feature too.

The Garmin Golf app is being improved through regular updates for improvements, and features on a continuously ongoing basis. It's best to keep an eye our for future updates to stay in the loop for potential changes, and feature enhancements.
Course map graphics differ from recent device releases with the Home Tee Hero feature being the only section of the app offering course map detail, exclusively for round simulation with the Approach R10. The graphics and course information during actual rounds of golf are focused specifically to Garmin's watches, and handhelds that operate primarily as standalone devices with the GPS receiver/preloaded course mapping.
Seriously, how do you expect people to spend $10 per month on a "premium" membership without offering this feature (and/or adding the Approach R10 requirement), when the likes of others such as Arccos do offer it in their subscription?
I would love to have all features in 1 Garmin app, but without this feature for me the Garmin membership is useless and I will stick with using something else, even when using a Garmin Watch for golf.
