S62 Not Connecting to Garmin Connect

The Garmin Connect app is telling me to connect only via the Garmin Golf app.  However the S62 used to connect to the Garmin Connect app.  How do I record golf activities AND fitness...isnt that the whole purpose of this watch?

  • The Approach S62 must sync through the Garmin Golf app as that is the parent app for syncing your specific model of Approach watch.

The information then transfers to display within the Garmin Connect mobile app. This is why the Approach S62 is initially setup through the Garmin Golf app when the watch is new out of box for pairing to your smartphone.

In the Garmin Golf app you must open the Profile tab > Select "My Devices" > Then sync your watch from there on the next menu to transfer information to view within the Garmin Connect mobile app.

The Garmin Connect mobile app will display your Approach S62 is connected but is not the app that is used to sync your actual watch.

  • This has only just recently changed and it’s a pain! As an example, when you select Garmin pay, in the golf app, it directs you back to Garmin Connect. But Garmin Connect states that no device is connected, when it clearly is. It suggests to toggle Bluetooth on and off. I do this and can’t see any connection. I go into wallet and it still states that no device is connected.

  • We have not made any changes to the applications or software for how the Approach S62 syncs. The Garmin Golf app installed, running in the background and maintaining a sync with your S62 is required and always has been required.

Smart features like Garmin pay, step tracking and connect iQ content must go through Garmin Connect mobile and Connect iQ Store..that has not changed for setting up. syncing or viewing those types of features.
