Touchscreen not working - again - 2nd watch

This is getting really annoying.  My Touchscreen stopped working on my original S62.  I called Customer Service and they sent me a replacement.  It worked fine for 1 month or so.  Now the replacement has the same issue.  The Touchscreen just stops working.  It has never been dropped or damaged.   I have updated all the software needed and turned it on/off many times.   Still the touchscreen just does not work.   Was my replacement faulty as well?  Is this a common issue with all of these?   The watch is not cheap and its really annoying that it does not work anymore.

  • Make sure to closely inspect with good lighting, the four pins housed within the oval shaped connector piece at the end of the charging that connects to the back of the watch. Inside of the oval shaped connector end of the cable, all four of those pins should be sticking out the same length, all the same color, and evenly spaced. If any of the pins are not sticking out the same length as the others, are bent, or missing...your charging cable needs to be replaced so the connection via USB cable will allow both data transfer and charging.

The four pins in the connector end of the cable are all required to make proper contact to allow for both charging and data transfer. The cable can still charge if the two pins used for charging are making an adequate connection to the contacts on the back of the watch. The other two pins in the connector are needed for establishing data transfer, which will allow the computer and the Garmin Express program to read your watch as a device drive.

If none of the pins look damaged, pushed in further than others, dark in color, and none are bent/missing...the steps on support articles linked below are recommended to troubleshoot other reasons your computer is not reading the watch as a drive when connected via USB:

Once your watch is able to update, if you are still having concerns with the watch display freezing...you may need to perform a master reset your watch per the steps outlined on our support article linked Here Be sure to click the dropdown menu for S62|S70 under the "Restore watch to factory defaults section".
