My watch will not “prompt” to a score when I get on the green

The last two days my watch stopped switching to the score card when I walk on to the green. Now it just shows the green but now I have a “pencil” icon where the virtual caddy is located. I touch the pencil and I then get the score card and I have to enter my score.

The watch has been working perfectly for months and just started this for the last two rounds.

Can anyone please help?

Thank you

  • Before you used the S62 watch, how and where did you remind yourself to record the score for the hole you just completed?

  • I prefer the new method.  I frequently would be placed on the green even if walking near it to a ball 10 yards off the green.  One improvement I would like is when you make a short chip from off the green the watch does not recognize it (not enough momentum).  A simple menu item you could select to record that un-recognized shot that can currently only be done once a scorecard has been transferred to the cloud and then accessed via computer.

  • You don't need to wait until after transferring the scorecard to record unrecognised shots but the process is clunky.  If you notice the chip hasn't been recorded ( I can tell because I don't get prompted for what club I just used for the shot), then you press the top Red button and find the menu option for Last Shot, just make sure you haven't walked away from where the unrecorded shot was taken. Underneath that you will find an Add Shot option.  If you select that, you will get a message to record shot from current location;  when you confirm, you'll get a prompt for club used and you're hitting location and club used is recorded..  I say the process is clunky because when you are pretty close to the green you are probably in a hurry to get to your ball on the green to mark it and avoid impacting the putts of your fellow golfers.

  • Well for me the new software is a retrograde step.  Sometimes the vibration prompt happens before or at the next hole tee box but sometimes it doesn't happen at all.  Very frustrating and whilst I applaud trying to improve the user experience, this definitely has the opposite effect for me.

  • I have the S60 but the update seems to be the same. Very irritating ’upgrade’ that has taken performance of the watch/app backwards in my opinion.

  • Don’t find this helpful at all is there any way i can revert my watch back to how it was?Rage

  • Absolutely agree. Is anyone from Garmin listening? Would be good to have a response from them. Even if they say feedback is more positive than negative there are enough of the latter to warrant a settings option to turn this on or off in my opinion.

  • I agree 100%. I paid a lot of money for this watch and enjoyed it as it was.
