S62 won’t charge

My S62 will not charge when I plug in the USB cable.

This is a very poor customer journey and experience given the cost of this product.

Grateful if someone can advise and or assist me please in this matter ASAP 

  • Hello, please try the following:

    • Reset the watch by holding the power button (middle button) for 30 seconds, then connect it to a computer to receive a charge 
      • This will not erase any of your saved data or settings

    Mine doesn’t charge and has never given me the club selection. Very frustrating 

  • I had problems charging it with an adapter. When I'm connecting it to a computer it will start charging immediately.

  • The real design problem is with the charging cord's (watch-side) 4-pin plug. The small pins are spring loaded and tend to get stuck in the pushed in position and don't deliver a charge. After every time I wear the watch I clean the back of the watch with a little soapy soft paper towel, use a wooden or plastic toothpick to clean around the charging port oval and then I check that the pins are all fully out at the same height. If any of those pins are down use a toothpick to pop them out. This sucks a little but the watch is so awesome otherwise I'll put up with this inconvenience. The two times I had problems turning it on was caused by a stuck pin so now I'm extra vigilant they stay clean and springy. I hope this helps other Garmin S62 owners with charging problems.
