Garmin is slow on improvement

I don't see much development or improvements with the CT10 system, Arccos seems to be much more on their toes.

I had expected much more statistics flexibility when I selected the Garmin system, but I'm rather disappointed so far.

One example .. I've asked for club statistics flexibility, e.g. possibility to only select the best number of strokes of my own choice for length average, based on my best 20/50/100 strokes. I mean if I have 20-30% or more missed hits in my statistics the total average are not worth concider at all. I also can't understand why it's even the slightest difficult to add such basic flexibility?

I certainly hope to see major system development/improvents this season, otherwise I'll change to Arccos for good.

Garmin - you are losing the battle, please step up and prove you are worth the investment!

  • The watch and sensors are "good enough" now but they aren't measuring up to the competition. Garmin's watch is top notch, nothing to debate there. The sensors are a bit clunky but work, I've had them for 2 full seasons now. The big miss is how Garmin handles the data presentation and customization we want which the competition offer. At this rate it's up to Garmin to put the time in to deal with that. Short of doing that most golfers in the long run would be better off with a range finder.

I can also save everyone a lot of money if you're not an elite or extremely above average player/ball striker. Club up, that's what my watch and sensors have taught me..just club up and stop pretending how far you think you can hit it or do once in a while. The law of averages say we all need to stop pretending we hit the ball as far as we think/want/hope we do on each swing.

  • Sounds somewhat promising. I really hope they have worked alot on the actually information and presentation of that information that the watch collects as it seems to be one of the things that most of us really requests, especially when you start to look at competitors that have watches that cost 1/3 of the price of an Approach 62. As people have said, the watch itself is amazing and there is nothing to complain about there. Hopefully they have worked alot since the last update 6(!) months ago..

  • I tend to work on the basis that I "Go for one flag more", Front pin, go for middle, middle pin, go for back, back pin, add a bit. Firstly, as has been said, we generally tend to underestimate our distances, and secondly, more often than not, all the trouble (bunkers etc) are at the front of the green.
