Garmin is slow on improvement

I don't see much development or improvements with the CT10 system, Arccos seems to be much more on their toes.

I had expected much more statistics flexibility when I selected the Garmin system, but I'm rather disappointed so far.

One example .. I've asked for club statistics flexibility, e.g. possibility to only select the best number of strokes of my own choice for length average, based on my best 20/50/100 strokes. I mean if I have 20-30% or more missed hits in my statistics the total average are not worth concider at all. I also can't understand why it's even the slightest difficult to add such basic flexibility?

I certainly hope to see major system development/improvents this season, otherwise I'll change to Arccos for good.

Garmin - you are losing the battle, please step up and prove you are worth the investment!

  • I have mentioned this before but Garmin is gonna fall further and further behind if they don't step up their game. Seems like they are living on their brand name atm since there is alot of functions missing that other lesser known brands have.

They have the technology for it but they don't have the drive other up and coming brands have. I hope they start noticing it and step up their game.

  • I'd agree. Very slow. Based on the 3-4 years of customer requests and suggestions, almost nothing has changed in the way statistics are collected and presented.

I could list off 4-5 golf apps/sites that do a much better job. Very surprised how little interest Garmin has keeping up with competition.

  • I can’t agree more. I work for a tech company so I have a hunch as to why they’re slow to respond. They don’t have enough coders to go around. They’re focused on new products/apps/whatever to keep sales going. If that’s not the answer then I have no clue why they can’t enact many of our requests as most care about manipulating the data already captured, how hard can that be?

  • hear hear..

Bought it mostly for the data. But i find the data useless how it is presented now.  For distance i use my rangefinder. So the only reason i wear the watch from time to time on the course is to see how far i hit my club at the moment i am playing. The average distance is a joke. Hope there will be improvement in the future, because the watch itself is good.. such a shame

  • I thought it was just me not knowing how to properly use the app but reading the comments here, it appears others have concerns about the averages in particular.

  • Fully agree. Bought the S62 because it looked like the best, but have been very disappointed with the lack of updates and general functionality. Also considering moving to one of the competitors.....no news about coming updates or what is being considered. If I knew some of the features were in the pipeline being developed I would stay, now I really don't know, will be searching for other similar products.....

  • I've been informed by Garmin that my improvement request has been sent to the development team and I now expect to see an update soon where the functions requested is added - I certainly can't wait until late 2021 (end of season) to have this fixed!

It's really amazing that such basic functions was not included from start, I get the impression they don't think about "the bleeding obvious" before implementing functionalities ... However, I now hope for a fast and positive response from the development team.

PS.  I also have S62 and 14+3 CT10 sensors and hope my investment wasn't in vain.  DS.

  • Same here, the watch and sensors. Hoping my investments pay off.
