Analyzing Shots Online / Seeing Training Sessions in Garmin Connect

Hi!

I will be using my R50 mostly to train and improve my game. Therfore, it would be really nice to be able to analyse and review training sessions in an online tool.
Garmin Connect seems to be the ideal platform for that.

Hereby placing a feature request to have that added.

Thank you,

Christian

  • The Garmin Golf app must be used at this time to review shots from practice sessions, which can be viewed through the mobile app on a smartphone or iPad. So if you record a practice session on the R50 and save the session, you can not only review the sessions directly on the R50 display...but you can also open the Garmin Golf app on your mobile phone to view the session you saved as well without having to use the R50 to view the shots.

The Garmin Connect website allows virtual rounds from Home Tee Hero to be reviewed but not the shots from practice sessions at this time.

  • I am aware that shots can be reviewed in the app, however for a USD 5000 device, I would expect some more analytical functions.

Also, it's very cumbersome to go from shot to shot in the app. You always have to navigate from the list of shots to the details, e.g. impact, then to see the next shot, back to the list and to details again. Just having an option to swipe through shots would already be a big improvement.

Don't get me wrong, the R50 hardware is amazing, but the software (app or Garmin connect) needs to be improved.

  • My previous response was also provide information for other forum users, and for those searching for this topic via search engine to ensure well-rounded information is being provided from a reference standpoint.

I will forward your feedback regarding wanting more options for accessing sim session on the Connect website, and if anything becomes further available through that site, I will post here in forums and your account will be emailed as well. More features becoming available for viewing sim session info becoming available through the Garmin Connect website is not guaranteed...but your request will get looked at and reviewed.

Please note that the Garmin Connect website is a legacy system, and is primarily provided for login access to view account information synced over from fitness products, along with some other generalized access to information synced to Garmin Accounts.

The Golf section of the dashboard on the site is limited in for the primary features designed for Golf products through the Golf app, as the Connect website was developed well prior to the Approach R10/R50 products being conceived.

Everything Golf feature related at this time is optimized for viewing and access through the golf dedicated Garmin Golf mobile app for all the wide variety of golf products and golf features offered from Garmin.

  • Thank you Cody! It's really good that somebody from Garmin is participating so actively here in the forum - appreciated!

Would be great to be able to make better use of all the data of them training sessions - whenever that might be - even in the app would be perfect.

    Thanks for forwarding my request!

  • There are several web apps and desktop software solutions that read the Garmin R10 format.  I'm using one of them and have found that the R50 file is the same as the R10 file format. So I just download the data from the Garmin Golf app and load it into the third party application.

  • Hi!

Which one are you currently using?

  • I really need this. Please listen to your customers.

  • Requests have been submitted to be possibly considered for potential future updates or enhancements to Garmin products.

Note, that the option to view practice session shot data on the Garmin Connect website is not guaranteed to become available and unless the option does become available, or Garmin decides to make it clear that it will not become available, there is no additional information to provide on this request at this time

    - Thank you .

  • Hi Cody,

Agree with all above.  One question.  I saw on the app that only the Max/Min/Avg Total distance and average Carry distance are there.  How do I access all club and ball data on the app?  Thanks
