Inconsistent data?

Hi all - Have had the R50 for a few days, and saw some weird results today.  When in Practice mode, and tracking both ball and club data, I was seeing club path and face data that seems to be the opposite of what the ball was doing.

The below pic shows the club data in the red circle, which would indicate a push/fade… whereas the stats in the green circles show a significant left miss (maybe a push/hook).  I’m guessing that the red circle items are club data (derived from the sticker) and the green circle items are derived from the ball movement.  Do I have that right?  And if so, which data is more accurate and is the correct one to trust?

  • Would this not be from gear effect? Toe strike could cause the ball to draw irrespective of what the club path and face is dong. The ball started 3.7R which indicates your face was pointing in that direction however a toe strike would have caused right to left spin hence draw spin?

  • I think it was a mis-read. I have this happen when I use a yellow ball at night and my lighting isn’t perfect. That is massive side spin. If club path was 4.0r and face to path was 1.0L you could see the hook spin left this high. Toe strike could offset the numbers a little but not this much.

Club path and face to path are two club data points that should always be next to each other on the tiles. Seeing club path a little right and face to path a little less right is a good thing. Face is closed to path and the R50 does a great job with this as long as the stickers are placed correctly. It’s a great tool!

I pull my shorter clubs often and the R50 picks it up everytime. 2.0 r and FTP 4.0L creates a bit of a pull. The face shuts to fast!

  • His Face was only 2 Degrees Right of Club path which should result in a slight fade? Its possible its a misread but also depending on how severely it was hit towards the toe. Below is a screenshot of a swing that should have produced a pull hook but the ball faded because of a heel strike.

  • Its been noted in other posts about the high right spin number. When I’m on GSpro or Awesome golf the numbers match up correctly. Not sure if an update has fixed this or not.. R50 will show R spin  and the other two will show L spin.

The numbers shown above have a smash factor of 1.40 and if the ball was hit in the heel the smash factor would have been much lower. The R should be an L. 20’ apex could be correct. Heel shot at that speed should have produced a higher apex. The numbers to me show a ball starting left and going further left.
