I think this is an essential function that can't be that hard to develop. It would make a huge improvement in driving range statistics.

I'd be interested in that addition info as well if possible?

The CT-10 sensors currently have no option for pairing with a smartphone, and due to their intended design prior to release of the Approach R10...are not compatible for use with Approach R10 features.
I will reach out to you directly to confirm some additional info regarding the feature you are requesting.

I get that CT10's use ANT+ rather than BT, and most phones don't have ANT+ support, but presumably anyone with CT10's also has a Garmin watch of some form (I have the Epix Gen 2 personally, plus the CT10's and recently the R10), and that Garmin watch does have BT and already connects to the Garmin Golf App.
So my thought would be something along the lines of:
Grab a club waking up the CT10, that then gets detected by/connects to the Epix Gen 2 which relays that to the Garmin Golf app via BT which could update the club on the Sim session/R10.
Also thinking about it it could work the opposite way, it would be great to have an app on the watch that could display Sim data fields from the R10/Garmin Golf on the watch screen rather than having to look at the phone screen.
Or Garmin just needs to add ANT+ to the next version of the R10
Auto club detect via CT10s would be great feature within the Garmin ecosystem. Just bought my R10 and S70 watch and CT10s and was shocked this wasn’t already a feature!
me too i was really hoping for seemless inegration. it would be nice to just go from real to virtual and keep all your stats and scores together. mabey they will release a update or something.
Hi everyone,
I had some. Thoughts about that too.
I’m using the Approach R10 together with CT10 club sensors and a Garmin S62 and I believe there is a big opportunity to significantly improve the Home Tee Hero simulator experience while also strengthening Garmin’s ecosystem. Major benefits for users
Automatic club detection in Home Tee Hero using CT10 sensors would:
Eliminate the need to manually select a club before or after each shot
Keep simulator sessions smooth and uninterrupted
Provide much more accurate club distance and performance statistics
Create a more realistic and premium training experience
Many users already own CT10 sensors and Garmin golf watches – combining these with the R10 would massively enhance daily practice and simulator play. Strong benefits for Garmin
This integration would:
Increase customer lock-in to the Garmin ecosystem (R10 + watch + CT10 working together)
Drive additional hardware sales (more CT10 sensor sets and Garmin golf watches)
Create a unique selling point versus competing simulator platforms
Increase Home Tee Hero usage and long-term engagement
Garmin could become the only brand offering a fully integrated solution combining radar launch monitor + club sensors + smartwatch data in one ecosystem. Technically feasible solution
A dedicated indoor/simulator mode could allow the watch (e.g. S62/S70) to stream CT10 impact events live to the phone (club ID + timestamp).
Home Tee Hero would then match these events with the R10 shot data in real time.
Higher battery usage during simulator sessions would be an acceptable trade-off for most users, as indoor practice typically lasts 1–2 hours. Perfect timing
With Home Tee Hero becoming the main simulator platform and indoor training growing rapidly, this deeper ecosystem integration would be a major step forward.
If you would like to see automatic CT10 club detection in Home Tee Hero as well, please comment or upvote to show interest.
Thanks!
Is this from chatGPT or other AI? Garmin said above that its not technically feasible. The CT10s are not compatible with the R10.
Well the request as you´re stating here is technically not feasable you´re right.
BUT the app already has access to launch monitor sessions the garmin watch and ct10 data via the watch.
What I´m suggesting is a software-level data fusion inside the app not a hardware integration.
That would allow automatic club identification from ct10 during home tee hero sessions
shot count per club
and session context indoor vs outdoor
That´s why this is technically feasible at the app level, even if ct10-r10 hardware coupling is not.
And you´re right i had a discussion with chatgpt about that topic and my post is just the result of that discussion. Chat GPT istn´t a Tool to tell i want this give me the solution Chat GPT is more like a think partner who is working with you and also has some bad ideas in the middle if you use gpt like a friend or collegue you want to evolve and solve a problem together it´s a pretty nice tool.
Or just do it through the watch. That's not an excuse but all your products should work as an ecosystem like you always promote. Its easy, you start the session on you R10 a prompt in the watch should asl if you want to start a Tempo session then you tap you C10 with the club and when you swing club selection plus tempo should be register in the stroke. Easy solution to implement but you are to lazy to develop software just focused in releasing watches. And I get it, its your main source of revenue but if you don't improve the software some point in the future, we will not be buying new watches.
