R10 not working picking up shots at outdoor driving range

I havent been able to get the R10 to work once at the outdoor driving range.  I have an iphone and have the latest 4.3 software loaded on r10. I have also uninstalled and removed device and then reinstalled and paired the unit again. i have also calibrated the unit.  The device is setup at 7 feet away, no one else even on the driving range and the unit is flashing green.  I take my shot and the unit shows a red light and then goes back to flashing green,  In the app nothing happens.

    Maybe You have the possibility to test a short chip shot at home?

    Use a lob wedge or something to get the ball airborne.

    Should detect shots longer than 10 ft.

    The unit may be faulty but at least it appears to detect movement.

    I also came to think about range balls. Anything special about the balls Your range uses? Like floating balls hitting into a lake?

  • I tried to not waggle and was able to get the first shot to register after that nothing.  Pretty frustrated that i havent been able to really use this device as intended.

  • Also be aware that unusually short swings or unusually long swings will not be detected.

    You have a time window between start and finishing Your shot.

    What happens if You just do a "normal" swing?

    If this is not detected I'm leaning towards a faulty unit, but can't tell for sure without a video.
