If moving back from each shot location due to divots, and keeping an ideal lie, you would want to re-align every time you move back a foot or so, to keep the red line on top of the R10 in as straight of a line as possible to the shot location, and from the shot location to the target location the shot is aimed at.
Per the Troubleshooting Radar Features of the Approach R10 If the device is misaligned, your swing metrics while using the golf simulator features will not be accurate. For example, if the alignment is off by several degrees, the metrics will also be off by several degrees.
Doesn't moving the R10 mean the R10 has to also be re-calibarated ? If so, the software requires the session to be closed first in order to re-calibrate the R10. If it needs to be re-calibrated, the software should allow re-calibration without having to close the range or HTH session.
Moving the device does not require recalibration, unless the surface the R10 is being placed on uneven. Calibration must be done from the main menu of the Garmin Golf app, and with a level tool to ensure the surface is even for setup.

If your distance and launch angle are consistently inaccurate, calibrate.
Calibrate when all of the above suggestions have not resolved your consistently inaccurate data.
