Cody. Thanks. I guess I see older videos (note they are using a projector) not sure if that makes a difference. But portrait mode and landscape mode look the same. See pic of said video I captured from…
Below You will find an example from my home course (Sotra Golfpark, Norway).
Hole 4, landscape mode and a picture taken from tee with my camera.
My problem is that when I play this hole in HTH, there is a "wall" in front of me I struggle to get over with the driver.
And the "wall" is not there in real life.
I have no idea if this is due to wrong height mapping of the hole, or "zoom issue" that apparently is designed and working well.
The end result is that I lose approx 60-70 yds on the hole as I hit this wall and the ball comes rolling back down
I will get this concern reported over our map team to get the layout issue corrected for that course.
Once we have a solution, we will reach out to you letting you know the correction has been implemented for hole 4.
Thanks Garmin-Cody
It will be interesting to see if an update makes the landscape mode better.
I actually have my doubts as in landscape mode I cannot see "anything" that I actually can see in real life, and not only related to this particular hole.
That being water, bunkers, downslope etc, all hidden in the landscape mode.
So in general, unless I know the course, it's impossible to use only landscape mode to set targets and look for hazards. And using a projector portrait mode is not as fun, and having to switch mode for every hole is not fun either.
This has been an issue with Landscape mode and IPad usage for over 2 hrs. You have a niche market. Make this work.
I am not sure if you are referring to mirroring from an iPhone to an iPad in landscape mode, ...or if you are referring to installing the Garmin Golf app to an iPad for use in landscape mode. So below I have included more info addressing both.
Tablet compatibility is not currently in process of being offered at this time. However, user feedback has been noted and will be considered for future improvements to our products.
The view in landscape mode is currently functioning as designed, and user feedback has been noted as well. At this time there are no announcements regarding plans to make changes to the current view...however, if that changes, I will notify through forums at that time.
