Updated February 21, 2023:
The landscape view when using Home Tee Hero features with the Approach R10, there a few different viewing options we offer. The first person view in Home Tee Hero using the landscape…
We are currently looking into feedback with the zoomed view in landscape mode (non-overhead view), and I have added your account to the experience case we are looking into regarding the way it looks after…
Cody. Thanks. I guess I see older videos (note they are using a projector) not sure if that makes a difference. But portrait mode and landscape mode look the same. See pic of said video I captured from…
Use of Garmin Golf app on tablets unfortunately not supported, as the Garmin Golf app would be installed and operated from a compatible iPhone or Android smartphone. Sessions then can extended from the smartphone to a larger display from the phone by mirroring or cable connections.
There are not any updates regarding any potential changes to the landscape view within the Garmin Golf app. Although the appearance in landscape was adjusted after a previous release updating the app, the functionality landscape is currently working as designed.
We are still tracking customer feedback on the change, so I will reach out to you for more info to submit your account to our team for future update considerations.
Thanks!
iPhone is used and mirrored to a larger display (200“).
I can understand that the Garmin Golf app was designed for an iPhone or Android smartphone and is mainly used with these platforms, but I would think that the Garmin Golf app in SIM MODE is used with both smartphones and tablets...maybe even more so with tablets. Garmin should be able to get this device usage information from Apple/Google to determine the demand.
Thanks for the feedback! Keep in mind Garmin is not telling users no on tablet compatibility...for now we have no announcements to make regarding the change being offered at this time, if it becomes offered we will let you know.
Landscape mode for me is useless, and screen mirror to projector only enlarge the image.
In landscape mode I can not see any hazards, I can not see where I put the marker, and in general has no idea of what lies up ahead.
So for every shot I will have to change to overhead view in order so get a grasp of what is going on. And of course it's not possible to leave it in overhead view as it defaults back to what I would call ball view (not persons view)..
Can't believe this is intended and that Garmin thinks this is all good.
Same problem here, using an iPhone 12 Pro with a FullHD projector. HTH makes absolutely no fun in landscape mode, you can see nothing. I'm still using the 30-days trail version and will not pay the annual fee after April 11th, when you say everything is working as designed. All you can see is a lot of green gras and huges trees, no hazards, no fairway, nothing. The problem appears on ALL ranges as well as on EVERY course. The view position is much too low and zoomed, it should be a much higher position (more "bird view"), just like in the perfectly working portrait mode. But using the portrait mode with a projector makes no sense, is not really immersive and makes no fun.
I am having the same issue. Landscape mode is not usable with this view. I like to mirror my iphone/ipad to a monitor for a larger screen and to allow my playing partners to watch each other's shots, but it looks ridiculous in portrait mode. I was excited to play Augusta next weekend, but Amen Corner just isn't the same when you have the perspective of an ant.
Yes, I liked the ant comment.
Probably more correct than my ball view.
Like the ant comment too.
If I hit the ball at 100m for example 2m left, then with the wrong zoom it is displayed as if the ball was 4m left (simple mathematics). The landscape view without adjustable zoom (so that it matches the own setup/screensize) makes little sense. So you feel like an ant, which can not even hit the ball straight. Too bad that garmin makes us feel that way by intention and as designed ;)..
